Blood Orange Pomegranate Cadillac Margarita
A Cadillac Margarita with fresh blood orange juice and Grand Mariner, along with pomegranate and lime, served frozen or over ice. A wonderful take on the classic Margarita and the classic Cadillac which forms a citrus-pomegranate one-two punch of flavor.

Sometimes you have creativity sitting right next to you and you receive a tantalizing version of a classic summer cocktail as a gift.
Turns out my boyfriend, who has near twenty years experience as a server, host, and bartender in some fine New York establishments, and who now has a lot of time on his hands, had worked out this most delicious version of a margarita.
Red Cadillac
First off, he explained to me that any Margarita using Grand Mariner is called a Cadillac. I had not known this and, once he imparted this news to me, I was even more excited to make this Cadillac Margarita.
The flavors are classic lime margarita, fresh squeezed blood orange juice, or just as fresh if using Natalies, an extra dose of orange liqueur with Grand Mariner, and, of course, the clincher: Pomegranate. In this case, Pomme juice will do just fine if you do not feel like knocking out all those pomegranate seeds and blitzing them. We had these drinks for July 4th and made them frozen until we ran low on ice and then had them over ice, which was just as delicious.
Tequila is, of course, key, and any quality white tequila will do…Herradura Silver is his favorite and I know so because he continued on with the Cadillac Margaritas days after the July 4th fireworks died down.
This Blood Orange Pomegranate Cadillac Margarita is tops for cooling off in the heat of summer and the taste will keep you coming back…
